When faced with an Internet leak, Taylor Swift just goes with the flow.
According to Reuters, an MP3 leak forced the Grammy-winning songbird to move up the release of her newest single, “Mine,” by about twelve days. The 20-year-old pop star’s record label, Big Machine Records, released a statement explaining that the MP3 was of subpar quality, and they’d decided to let fans hear the song in all its glory on iTunes and country radio.

Fox will announce today 8/1 the launch of a new fan-voted country music awards show. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the American Country Awards will air Dec. 6 live from Las Vegas. The two-hour telecast is being executive produced by Bob Bain, who handles Fox’s hit Teen Choice Awards.
Rascal Flatts to Join Big Machine : MusicRow

Big Machine President/CEO Scott Borchetta announced today 7/29 that Rascal Flatts would be the latest addition to the Big Machine family. A new album called Nothing Like This, produced by Dann Huff, is due out November 16. The first single “Why Wait,” written by Neil Thrasher, Tom Shapiro and Jimmy Yeary, is being released to radio today.

Had you assumed that country-music acts still managed to sell albums because their targeted demographics hadn’t yet fully embraced the Internet? Well, how do you explain this: While the rest of the live music industry is slumping in 2010, country-music concerts are selling and selling. According to a new report, big names like Brad Paisely, Taylor Swift, and Jason Aldean continue to see robust sales, thanks in part to relatively low ticket prices.
