Country Music Linked with Viagra for Women?
As ricidulous (we meant to spell it that way) as it seems, the New York Times has an op-ed piece that tries to link Country Music with Viagra for women. Yes, folks, they really try hard to link America’s Hot Country genre to the need women may have for a libido stimulant.
The link, though, doesn’t claim that purported female need for such stimulation is the fault of Country Music, but the cure. The problems, it’s alleged, are caused by the re-toning of sex in Rock, Rap, etc. Did you know they had done that? Well, apparently so… by making sex in music too obvious. No mystery. No waiting to see or hear if it might happen, because it already has… and been described in detail.
Same for movies and cable. No more nuances of showing the sheets disheveled after the fact. We see precisely HOW the sheets became disheveled.
Meanwhile, Country Stars just sing about all that cheatin’ and runnin’ around. They don’t describe it blow by blow, and certainly don’t publicly participate. That leaves the mind to fill in the blanks. Real subtile (we meant to spell it that way). And subtlety is still sexier than the obvious, the writer says. NOW we get it.
We’d give you a link, but the article’s a mile long, recites history back to the Romans, and is NOT sexy.
