Country Radio Seminar: A Ball For Music Business & Radio Disc Jockeys
Not many outsiders know much about it, but Nashville’s annual Country Radio Seminar (CRS) – going on now – is super important to radio and music business insiders.
It’s the gathering where the two music business linch pins, so important to each other, share info and get to know each other personally.
As you can imagine, the Country Music Stars come out and shine for the Radio Stars. Like today’s Universal Music Group Luncheon at the Ryman with performances by Gary Allan, Easton Corbin, Billy Currington, Vince Gill, Mallary Hope, Julianne Hough, Jamey Johnson, David Nail, Randy Rogers Band, Sugarland, Josh Turner and Lee Ann Womack. Man, wouldn’t we all like to be there.
A late afternoon gathering is titled Storytellers With Darius Rucker, Clay Mills, Frank Rogers, Chris DuBois, Ashley Gorley and Rivers Rutherford. Now there’s a songwriter’s feast. Shame it’s only for insiders.
And tonight, Taylor Swift will be performing in a Music City Jam. Later all kinds of stars in venues all over Nashville, topped off by Rascal Flatts 10th Anniversary Radio Party at the Renaissance Grand Ballroom and Lady Antebellum at the Hard Rock Cafe. Too bad those last two events overlap. Decisions, Decisions.
Those of us who can’t be there can only drool. But the requirements are you must be in the radio business or the record business, or an invited guest. Pity.
