Forbes loves to compile Top 10 Earning lists and its latest “revelation” is a ranking of American Idols. Anyone paying attention would immediately guess and be correct, that Carrie Underwood reigns supreme on this list having earned over $20 million in the past year cashing in on over 80 tour dates. Lambert season eight, No. 2 and Chris Daughtry season five, No. 4 tied in second place with $6 million each. According to the publication Underwood “banked as much as the Top 5 artists added together.
Scotty McCreery and Country Music Win Big on American Idol

Scotty McCreery’s big win on American Idol capped the most-watched Idol Show ever and put another huge feather in the cap of Country Music.
Nashville and Music Row had reason to celebrate when Idol wound up with two Country Music finalists, and now of course, the celebration continues. It marks another triumph of the Nashville brand, following a long string of record-setting artists – including Taylor Swift’s record-setting album and digital music sales.
Swift’s “Speak Now” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart dated Nov. 13, 2010 with 1.05 million in sales for that one week. That million-sales in one week was a feat that had hadn’t been accomplished in any music genre since 2005.
Sugarland To Perform On “Idol”

Sugarland is slated to perform on Fox’s American Idol for Thursday’s 3/24 results show. This will be the Mercury duo’s first appearance on the series.
Also set to perform is former Idol contestant and singer/actress Jennifer Hudson. The remaining 11 contestants will compete for the crown by singing the hits of Motown on Wednesday 3/23 night.

Fans of ‘American Idol’ know that Carrie Underwood was something special from the moment she stepped onto that show’s stage. Former judge Simon Cowell was featured on “Oprah Presents Master Class” Sun., 10PM on OWN where he admitted she was truly one of a kind.
In nine seasons of “American Idol” no one commanded his attention as she did. “It was as if the entire cast that year was in black-and-white and she walked in in color,” Cowell said.
