Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles will host the two-hour holiday extravaganza CMA Country Christmas, airing Thurs., Dec. 1 9:00-11:00 PM/ET on ABC. Sugarland will perform “Silent Night” plus there will be performances from American Idol runner up Lauren Alaina, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Idol winner Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Brian Setzer with special guest Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Vince Gill in a special duet with Miss Piggy
Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson Among Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Nominees

Fresh from his Songwriters Hall of Fame induction in New York City, Garth Brooks is nominated for another prestigious honor for his tunesmith talents. The Shameless singer, who was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 16 by Billy Joel, is also nominated for inclusion in the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. He joins several other wordsmiths, including Alan Jackson, Amy Grant, Larry Gatlin, John Bettis, Gretchen Peters, Allen Shamblin and the late Townes van Zandt, in being included in this years list of nominees.

Bluebird Hosts “Birdsongs” Benefits : MusicRow

Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe is getting ready to kick off “Birdsongs,” a series of shows presented to benefit the Bluebird. BirdSongs will kick off June 1 with an extra special evening of songs and stories; Nashville Hall of Fame songwriters Sonny Curtis, Richard Leigh and Jim Weatherly will start the evening with a 6:00 PM show. This will be followed by the 9:00 PM show featuring long-time Bluebird friend, supporter and Hall of Fame songwriter, Don Schlitz, along with Grammy winners Vince Gill and Amy Grant with special guest Mary Chapin Carpenter. Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift Among Country Stars Set For Nashville Benefit | Billboard.com

Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are among the artists who will perform at a benefit to assist victims of the middle Tennessee flooding. The concert was organized by McGraw, Hill, and Coran Capshaw at Red Light Management and will be presented by AEG Live/The Messina Group, Live Nation and Outback Concerts.
