Brad Paisley: This Is Country Music Praise Echoed by American Songwriter
June 16th, 2011
It seems that everywhere we look we see our opinion of Brad Paisley’s new album “This is Country Music” being echoed. Our take: it is just about the best example one can find of today’s Country Music. Of course we must fess up that we could be biased, in that our publisher partner, ParMusic Group, has a cut on the album, but we’re far from alone in our Paisley praise. Most recently, a review by Eric Allen in American Songwriter said this:
“Brad Paisley’s ninth studio album, This Is Country Music, is the most consistent offering from start to finish of his 12-year career. Despite numerous guest appearances including Don Henley, Alabama, Clint Eastwood, and features duets with Carrie Underwood and Blake Shelton, the fact that Paisley is the star of the show is a true testament to his distinctive musical identity.”

Good News for Songwriters: Miranda Lambert Can’t Write Songs When She’s Happy!
February 4th, 2011
Here it is. Proof that it’s gonna be easier for songwriters to get cuts now that Miranda has hooked up with Blake Shelton and he makes her happy. Don’t believe that? Read what she said in an interview… And by the way, she’s not one that writes all her own stuff anyway. Her biggy Song of the Year “The House That Built Me” was written by two guys. And she’s definitely not a guy! (-:
Read and be glad: Miranda Lambert has admitted that she finds it difficult to write new music when not depressed.
In an interview with Ladies Home Journal, the singer revealed that she has to be in a “dark place” in order to pen songs which she deems worthwhile to record.
