Country’s Night To Rock TV: The CMA Music Fest Is Coming Again!

Did you make it to the CMA Music Festival in Nashville earlier this month? Whether you did or not, you’ll want to catch the television version on ABC in August.

The ABC-TV special CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock will air Sun., Aug. 7. The concert special was taped June 9-12 at the 40th annual festival.

Among the artists who will perform on the program are Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Sara Evans, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band.

Allison Kraus, Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley Climb

It’s celebration time for Allison Kraus and Union Station. After years without a new release, they’ve hit a number one with their new album. Also Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson’s duet gained following and American Idol gig and Brad Paisley hit some great sales with “Old Alabama.”

As reported by Music Row.com, Paper Airplane, the latest from Alison Krauss and Union Station, glided into the No. 1 spot on both the Country and Bluegrass album charts moving 83,000 units in its debut week [Nielsen Soundscan]. It marks a career best for the band who hadn’t offered new music in seven years.

ASCAP Awards Held in Nashville Last Night

ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) hosted its 48th annual Country Music Awards on Tuesday evening (09/15/10) at the War Memorial Auditorium in downtown Nashville.

The writers of country music’s most performed songs of the period between April 2009 and March 2010 were honored before an audience of many of Nashville’s most distinguished songwriters, top country stars and music industry leaders. Special tribute was paid to Alan Jackson, who was honored with the ASCAP Founders Award.

Country Comes Home: Grand Ole Opry Announces Sept. 28 Re-Opening of Opry House as Historic Circle of Wood is Returned to Opry Stage – MarketWatch
