Miley Cyrus, who works well on both sides of the street – both Pop and Country Music – has a world-wide biggy coming up. Details follow.

MTV will host a global live stream of Miley Cyrus performing new songs across its international websites.

Cyrus will perform songs from “Can’t Be Tamed” Hollywood Records/Universal on June 21 – the release date of the album – at L.A. House of Blues.

The concert stream will be available on MTV’s international websites in almost 160 countries. It takes place at 6pm PT on June 21.

Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift Among Country Stars Set For Nashville Benefit | Billboard.com

Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are among the artists who will perform at a benefit to assist victims of the middle Tennessee flooding. The concert was organized by McGraw, Hill, and Coran Capshaw at Red Light Management and will be presented by AEG Live/The Messina Group, Live Nation and Outback Concerts.

Today’s Songwriting: Still Writing Them Like They Used To?

Regardless of which artists and writers do what songs, somebody’s gonna say, “They ain’t writin’em  like they used to.”

But it’s amazing how much today’s different-style songs are really like they used to be. Maybe not in structure, but surely in having something meaningful to say. We wrote about it, when Taylor Swift won her Grammys and talked of writing about life.
