Did Britny Spears Steal the Bellamy Brothers’ Song?

It’s buzzing all over: MTV, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard and countless blogs are spouting off about the Britny Spears rehash of the Bellamy Brothers old chestnut “If I Said You Have a Beautiful Body Would You Hold it Against Me.”
The Spears title and idea is about the same thing. She sings, “If I said I want your body now would you hold it against me.” So can David Bellamy, who wrote the Bellamy version sue? Well of course. The question is would he be wise to sue, and could he win? There’s lots of the same stuff showing up in songs all the time. And there are plenty of songs with the same title.
