“Rolling Stone” Declares Nashville “Best Music Scene”

It’s like we’ve been saying all along: Nashville means great Country Music, but it’s not just Country. Now Rolling Stone Magazine takes note.

In its new Best of Rock issue, Rolling Stone lists Nashville as the nation’s Best Music Scene. The one-page spread covers Music City restaurants, bars, venues, shopping and record stores, with quotes from local rockers about their favorite hangs.

Kings of Leon’s Caleb Followill prefers Losers, and Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney can be found at the Station Inn or the 12 South Taproom.

Sugarland enjoys success of new single Stuck Like Glue

Nettles and Bush maintained their songwriting even after signing their Nashville recording contract.“They have a wonderful songwriting system in Nashville, but our roots are in the Atlanta singer-songwriter scene,” Nettles said. “We came into the Nashville scene doing our own thing. I think that’s been something refreshing for them.

”Despite the many great tunesmiths in Music City, Sugarland’s songwriting met no resistance there, Nettles added.
