Taylor Swift and Co-writer Sent Lyrics to ParamountSong/Nashville for Music Co-writing.

Everybody could use a little help somewhere along the upward path in songwriting, and megastar Taylor Swift was no exception. We didn’t realize it at the time, but have recently found through researching other matters in our data that an unknown co-writer working with the future super star sent some lyrics he co-wrote with her to ParamountSong back in 2004. They were looking for music to put with their lyrics.
Taylor’s name was on the lyrics, but she too was an unknown at the time, so none of us noticed anything out of the ordinary. We chose a singer-songwriter to write music for the lyrics, produced a guitar vocal demo and sent it to the pair of young writers at the co-writer’s address in Pennsylvania. ASCAP Awards Held in Nashville Last Night

ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) hosted its 48th annual Country Music Awards on Tuesday evening (09/15/10) at the War Memorial Auditorium in downtown Nashville.
The writers of country music’s most performed songs of the period between April 2009 and March 2010 were honored before an audience of many of Nashville’s most distinguished songwriters, top country stars and music industry leaders. Special tribute was paid to Alan Jackson, who was honored with the ASCAP Founders Award.

Billboard, CMA music summit starts Monday | tennessean.com

A first-of-its-kind music business conference bringing together executives and artists, including keynote sessions with performers Tim McGraw and Martina McBride, starts Monday in advance of the CMA Music Festival.
Billboard and the Country Music Association are co-sponsoring the two-day “Billboard Country Music Summit,” for music industry professionals gathering ahead of the fan-focused CMA festival June 10-13.

Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift Among Country Stars Set For Nashville Benefit | Billboard.com

Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are among the artists who will perform at a benefit to assist victims of the middle Tennessee flooding. The concert was organized by McGraw, Hill, and Coran Capshaw at Red Light Management and will be presented by AEG Live/The Messina Group, Live Nation and Outback Concerts.
