Ty Herndon Does a Double Turn – Turns To Songwriting, Wins a Dove
Ty Herndon, known for years as a class-act artist in country music, has switched. And become successful immediately in his new adventure. With a new inspirational album set to release in June and a new Dove award.
Herndon was presented the Dove Award, his first, during the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards, held on Wednesday night at Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry House. The show will be televised on Sunday, April 25, on gmc.
“I’m humbled that the members of the Gospel Music Association chose to honor ‘When We Fly’ with a Dove Award,” said Herndon. “The songs for Journey On represent my first attempt at songwriting, and I can sing them with a strength and conviction I never knew I had, because they are my songs, and that feeling is just awesome.”
